President and Founder of Hardin Insurance
Founding Hardin Insurance Inc on January 15, 1985, under the name Mike Hardin Agency, a personal lines captive agency proudly representing American National Insurance Company. Initially, all products offered were underwritten by American National and its subsidiaries, with a mission to help clients identify their insurance needs and craft tailored portfolios to meet those needs.
In 1994, Mike Hardin earned his Certified Financial Planning designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado, enhancing his ability to support clients with specialized investment needs. Concurrently, Candy Hardin expertly managed property and casualty insurance policy administration.
In 2006, American National made the difficult decision to exit the Florida market due to hurricane-related risks, prompting a pivotal choice for the agency. Committed to ensuring continued protection for clients, Mike transitioned the agency to an independent model, incorporating as Hardin Insurance Inc. This shift allowed the agency to partner with multiple financially stable carriers eager to serve Florida’s market. By carefully evaluating each company’s ability to meet claims and aligning with those best suited to client needs, Hardin Insurance Inc. solidified its commitment to reliability and trust.
Building on this foundation, three of Mike’s children, John, Christina, and Stephen, have joined their father’s vision, bringing fresh perspectives and youthful energy to Hardin Insurance. Their involvement has enriched the agency, blending tradition with innovation to enhance its growth and deepen its commitment to serving clients with compassion and trust.
As an independent agency, Hardin Insurance Inc. expanded its expertise to include business and commercial insurance, forging strong relationships with regional general agencies to deliver comprehensive solutions. The agency’s dedication to understanding underwriting, pricing, and risk analysis across 18 carriers ensures clients receive optimal coverage tailored to their unique circumstances. Today, Hardin Insurance Inc. remains steadfast in its mission to protect our clients' futures through faith and Integrity. Stephen, the newest member of the team, is Mike’s fifth child. He is currently studying abroad and pursuing his Bachelor's degree at the Catholic University of Lublin in Poland. Stephen ensures that every interaction focuses on the customer's needs and on how best to serve them. After excelling in academics and sports, followed by a year of dedicated mission work, John eagerly entered the insurance field.
